R.O.L.E of being a POET

How do you reevaluate your experiences thinking in verse
Slipping words off the tongue, explaining life's happenings in reverse?

I can remember a time when Jack B. Nimble, met Jack B. Quick
and B. Quick convinced him to jump over the candle stick,
On the same day, that cat Humpty- D sat on a wall
Hoping to all heaven he would not fall

Cause his friend Jack, not B. Nimble but B. Quick,
Had this bean stalk that he could use as a ladder to help him down,
But B. Quick we was not in town, when Humpty fell and hit the ground,
Jack was instead stealing the golden egg laying goose,
and Humpty was left scrambled.

That was the night when the cow jumped over the moon,
and the knife ran away with the spoon,
I remember, cause it was steak and potatoes night and
boy was that steak tender. I cut it with my fork, but
where to begin...

Born at the end of a war, I became the "Governing Friend"
as my parents found a treasure beyond the "X"
helping Tanya to become "Beautiful" and Baba to find his "Merciful Grace".
Life moves at break neck pace, finding
"Generosity", "Long-Living", and justifiable "Life" along the way.

Today, I sit on the throne of my own castle,
Ruling over my court with my Queen
and the Benevolent Energy of a Prince
and the Precious Health of a Princess
Our work is never done, we can never rest.

I remember when daydreams became poetic streams,
flowing through the mountains of my day,
gushing down the rocky face
smoothing the edges of my life,
curving the ridges of my strife,
lifting the sediment of my past,
while moving me toward my future.

I remember when this boy became a man
standing on quicksand,
floating like a rubberband
flexible and still
gathering nurishment from a pill
And then it was done,
my number one,
I dropped to my knees and
prayed hoping 10 fingers, 10 toes,
two eyes and a nose..

With my wish granted,
my life cemented and I became Dad
No a father, because I am here
for the long run, to teach him how to have fun,
without the evils of the other ones.

I am here to represent what a strong MAN can be,
Should be,
Will be,
and IS...

I am here to show him strength can be a voice,
Love can be a song,
and dreams can be a dance,
wrapped up in the arms of his father...

Long before he was born,
I wrote my vows in a song,
Telling my wife, that
If on the day we met,
we were two beads of sweat,
and that time til now was us working out,
Today, we'd be vast as the Arabian Sea,
and our ultimate goal would be to fill an Ocean.

And we keep working out

As for my Princess,
she cannot be compared to the rest
for she moves at her own pace.
She takes her time, then
here comes the race...
Born on Concrete, she landed on her feet,

How do you reevaluate your experiences thinking in verse
Slipping words off the tongue,
explaining life's happenings in reverse?
Well, by taking it one day at a time,
closing your eyes and opening your mind.

Since my life has many years to fill
This evaluation is not over still...
